Questions, answered

How is this different from a character counter?

Most screens cut by width, not characters. Truncly lays out your text in the same fonts and widths the platform uses (Arial for Google, SF-style fonts for iPhone, Roboto for Android), so you see the exact word where the cut happens — and it reads 38 different platforms at once.

What changed with Amazon titles?

Since 27 July 2026, product titles in every category except media must be 75 characters or less, spaces included. Amazon rewrites longer titles with its own AI. Truncly checks and fixes titles in bulk — brand first, no banned characters, no word used more than twice.

Why does one character double my SMS cost?

A text holds 160 characters only when every character is in the GSM alphabet. One curly quote, long dash or emoji switches the whole message to Unicode, which holds just 70. Truncly finds the culprits and swaps them for plain look-alikes automatically.

Will the AI change my brand name or invent claims?

No. Your brand and any “must-keep” phrases are locked, the AI is told not to invent facts, and every suggestion is measured again by the engine. If nothing fits, we cut at a whole word and flag the row for review instead of guessing.

How accurate are the limits?

Each surface says where its number comes from: an official platform limit, a real-device measurement from a named source, platform advice, or our own device model. You can open the source from every preview.

Do I need an account?

No. The live checker, share links and rule-based fixes work without signing up. An account adds bulk files, AI rewrites, translations and a saved library.

Where is my data stored?

On our own servers. We don’t sell data. AI features send only the text being rewritten to our AI provider, which doesn’t train on it. Uploaded files are deleted when you delete the job or your account, and we only use essential cookies — no trackers.
